Trompenburg Fine Candy Products, based in The Netherlands, was founded in 2001 in order to make a difference in the world of candy products with new brands, products and concepts. In 2009, the Tuttle & Company business was acquired and the Barkleys brand was added to the range.

Tuttle & Company had been founded in the 1990's in Washington state, U.S.A.
The company now distributes its world-famous brand Barkleys in more than 50 countries, and the number of export countries is growing rapidly.
Trompenburg/ Tuttle & Co. is committed to quality control and manufactures products of superior industry standards and value. This level of devotion has proven to ensure long-term brand loyalty by the consumer.
Our mint production facility for European sales and Exports is based in Germany, guaranteeing optimal product quality.

In 2009, when Tuttle & Co. was acquired, the Barkleys range was available in 3 flavours: Peppermint, Cinnamon and Wintergreen. Over time several new flavours and special ranges were developed and added. Next to Classic mints e.g.  Gourmet mints (a range combining a spice and a fruit), chocolate filled mints, mini mints (sugar free), liquorice pellets and BIO Organic mints. 

In 2023, the Barkleys Gum range was launched in 3 intense flavours: Peppermint, Cinnamon and Spearmint. Intense, spicy gum in classy metal tins. Quite unique.

Barkleys products are available in over 50 countries worldwide in various distribution channels: hyper- and supermarkets, convenience stores, drug stores, pharmacies, petrol stations, newspaper shops, tobacco shops, bookshops, souvenir shops and online shops.
