ChoViva

ChoViva is ten times more sustainable than conventional chocolate while offering the delicious and familiar taste experience that everyone knows and loves from chocolate.

Instead of relying on cocoa beans, we use regional oats and sunflower seeds in the innovative production process for ChoViva. In doing so, we adapt traditional cocoa processing methods - fermentation and roasting - to the new ingredients. This creates the full-bodied chocolate flavour. Combined with sugar and vegetable fat, ChoViva gets the melt-in-the-mouth texture and delicious taste of chocolate.

Thanks to short supply chains and the avoidance of deforestation, up to 90 % less CO2 is produced in the production process than with chocolate. Because oats are naturally sweet, ChoViva requires up to 30 % less sugar than conventional chocolate.

As an alternative to cocoa, ChoViva is sold to the confectionery industry and used in various applications from coatings to bake-stable chuns.This is because the cocoa supply chain faces numerous challenges such as rising demand, climate change, limited arable land and social issues that affect production costs and make supply scarcer.
