New Packaging Perspectives–Schubert's glue-free and hybrid packaging

Sustainable packaging is much more than just a current trend. It's an economic factor that needs to be considered in automation and should not be underestimated now or for future.

Together with our industry partners, we are continuously researching new environmentally friendly packaging solutions. The spectrum ranges from glue-free cardboard trays and paper flowpacks to sustainable multipacks and thermoformed packaging alternatives.

Dispensing without glue when erecting cardboard packaging saves raw materials and resources, reduces the energy consumption of the packaging machine and facilitates recycling. All good reasons for Schubert to develop a completely new type of technology: Dotlock.

Hybrid packaging made of plastic and paper can be fully recycled if plastic and paper has not been laminated. Schubert develops an innovative hybrid packaging solution for this very purpose: A plastic film made of monomaterial is deep-drawn into a pre-formed paper packaging, which can be easily removed once the products have been consumed.

The goal is always the same for each variant: Packaging that fullfils all the functions of the conventional material while being highly efficient and cost-effective to process in machines. This will also impact savings to the postconnected intralogistic up to the point of sales.
