Confiserie Heidel reaches new milestones in sustainability management

Confiserie Heidel has transitioned its entire product range to meet the Rainforest Alliance Standard. The Rainforest Alliance`s cocoa certification program is the world`s largest initiative for more sustainable cocoa farming. Compliance with the standard, which promotes sustainable agriculture and responsible buisness practices within the supply chain, is audited annually by an independent cerfification body. The Rainforest Alliance Standard complements the product-specific certifications of Confiserie Heidel which also holds the IFS (International Food Standard) seal, Fairtrade certification, the amfori certification for open and sustainable trade and the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification for certified palm oil.

In addition to product-specific certifications, Confiserie Heidel was also assessses for sustainability at the management level this year and was awarded the silver metal by EcoVadis. This recognition places Heidel among the top 15% of over 130,000 certified companies. EcoVadis represents another step towards sustainability at Heidel, following the archievment of the ZNU Standard for Sustainable Buisness last year.
